Meet Matthew J. Brownstein, CIHt
Founder and Executive Director, Institute of Interpersonal Hypnotherapy
Biography: Matthew J. Brownstein is a Certified Clinical and Transpersonal Hypnotherapist, educator, and the founder and executive director of the Institute of Interpersonal Hypnotherapy.
Matthew opened his first hypnotherapy practice in West Stockbridge, Massachusetts, in 1997. According to his professional biography, he has since completed more than 25,000 hours of classroom instruction and private-practice work.
In 2007, Matthew established the Florida Institute of Hypnotherapy with support from the late hypnotherapy educator Gil Boyne. The school later moved to Tampa and became the Institute of Interpersonal Hypnotherapy. Its instructors and graduates now extend beyond Florida and throughout the world.

Institute of Interpersonal Hypnotherapy
In 2025, the Institute moved its primary licensed location to Maitland, in the greater Orlando area. Matthew currently serves as its executive director and lead instructor.
